I'm sick, but I HAVE to sing!!!!
Why does it seem like we always get sick before an important performance?
Ugh!!!!
You're prepared, excited, and ready to sing -
THEN - you wake up with a head full of SNOT!
WHAT NOW???
You're not going to sound your best - that's the bottom line!
But there are a few things you can do to keep from embarrassing yourself and your family :)
MUCINEX!!!!
This is a singers best friend!

Ibuprofen
...or any anti-imflatory of your choice.
Laryngitis leads to the swelling of the vocal cords.
An anti-imflatory will reduce this swelling and hopefully return that beautiful voice!

Water!
Common sense people!
Healthy people drink 8 glasses of water a day.
But if you're sick, you need to drink a gallon of water a day.

Throat drops
My favorite are the ones that have the goo in the middle.
It feels so good!

Don't whisper!
It actually puts more strain on your voice.
In fact, just shut up until you HAVE to sing!
VOCAL REST!

Neti Pot
Ok this thing is weird when you first try it,
but it will help move that snot out of your system.
Just do it!
This is great for allergy season!

Throat Coat Tea
This should actually be my first recommendation!
Stay away from lemon based teas.
Lemon is acidic and will trigger reflux.
Honey is a good suppressant, but is high in sugar.
Peppermint and Ginger teas are better choices,
but seriously - check out Throat Coat!
Your life will never be the same.
